INTERVIEWER
Switch To a different question. And for this one, this is very customer focused, right? I want you to walk me through something that you made significantly, however you define that, significantly simpler for customers at a high level, what was the change and then I'll obviously have following questions.
CANDIDATE
Sure. So, um, Primarily, this is, this is what I did the for. We have this product in MFF which does the scanning. It does the scanning on the, it does the virus scans. It measures the how, goes through the all the applications in the mobile. It also goes through in the desktop. It goes through each and every file and starts measuring. There's a lot of things. Apart from the virus scanning, it does a lot of bunch of things, uh, Which are not not known to the user. So the user, if, uh, most of the users are not tech savvy tech savvy in the sense, they won't understand the technical terminologies of it. So the idea was why not to give us a small report card I'd say every day, end of the day or a week saying, uh, this is what uh the application has done for you. So this is what I thought this would make a lot of sense. So this would make uh, this, this would make uh the users really know that what is going on in the background, and he could choose. We could, uh, show them the uh small report cards uh saying that this is what we have done and these are the, this is what the um benefits, these are the things which has uh these are the benefits that uh come out of this uh um by you using this app. So in a small, uh, small card format, so this is what I propose to them and it is being in the, it is in the making actually in this, uh, in my right now.
INTERVIEWER
So it's currently under development. What's it? It's currently under development.
CANDIDATE
It's OK, but so
INTERVIEWER
what exactly did you make simpler? Can you just kind of be more specific about what was actually simpler?
CANDIDATE
Yeah. The entire functionality of the app, that people don't have to really go and look in uh people don't have to go and uh understand uh a non-technical person doesn't have to go into the app and understand. What, uh, what it, what it is doing and how much it has done. So instead, he will just get a small, uh, card in which everything will be published saying that this is what has happened since last one week, and this is the entire, uh, benefits that you have derived. He doesn't have to think about it. So it's a huge, uh, leap forward for him instead of digging deep and, uh, analyzing the things. Things are directly on his face in his face. He just can see it and, uh, understand what, what has happened, how much benefits he has, uh, gathered by using this application. And that has it really, uh, benefited him or not? That's what he will get a simple thing. It would be a simple score. I actually, after measuring all this, the idea was to come up with a simple score, a number. My idea was to get, uh, get up with a number, say, from 1 to 10, that he's protected at this stage. He, this is a number. Based on that number, he could dig deep and say, suppose he. If it is 10, he's highly protected. If it is 7, then it means that uh there have been some breaches or some places that he needs to improve his uh um behavior, online behavior, whatever. So from there, people could zoom in and understand and go into that direction to fill up that, uh, uh, mistakes or gaps in his usage.
INTERVIEWER
Got it. And so why did you feel that this change would drive value for customers? What, what about it made you convinced that this was a, a good thing to do?
CANDIDATE
Uh, this is the reason is that, uh, When I was studying, um, even in my college days or in my school days, my, my parents really never knew about what I, how much I was studying. The only, uh, the only thing that they, uh, more, uh, they would know is through the report cards. So the report cards and through the marks, they would know that this is much, what is my accomplish, how much I have studied. So in the same way, now that was the, that was the, um, reason, that was the one thing that from there I derived this idea and the primarily, um, even the users of the app, we I have used that app for a very long time. I wouldn't really know what is going on in that app. What are the various things I would know a couple of features, maybe the interesting features, 1 or 23 features, but I wouldn't know the amount of uh benefit that has brought, uh, brought that to it has brought me to, um, so. That was a driving factor. I thought maybe this would be easier for them and they would know that these are the features which are working for them. And these are the unknown features which, uh, when he had downloaded that app, he would have not known that these are the features available. Some of the unknow, maybe the 10th, 11th feature, they wouldn't be knowing it. But the benefits derived from that, um, 10th or 11th feature, they would be more interested in that app. And, uh, well, I thought maybe you could sell those most beneficial features to him, uh, monetize them too.
INTERVIEWER
So since it hasn't launched yet, how are you gonna know if you were successful?
CANDIDATE
So there it was, there was a trial runs which were done. So there was a prototype which was created. There was some trial runs which were done, um, among some of the, uh, very initial users. So they found that we got a positive feedback from almost every one of them. So that was a great success actually. And, uh, after proposing the app, it went through a huge number of iterations, a lot of discussions went on product team, uh, product management team took over and, uh, changed the entire structure of it. I mean, uh. The, the 1st 1st idea which I came through and the the eventual final uh product was completely, not completely different. It had elements of it, but a lot of new features built around it. Oh.
